General Fate/Stay Night

Extraverse
Gawain vs Nero Infamous Whore of Babylon line.

Argument with Gilgamesh in CCC about 5 minutes or so in, but pretty enlightening and interesting, even if Gawain comes off the loser in the end.

Grand Order
Voiced Valentine's Day Scene Female I'll eventually upload and share screencaps of the version for Gudao, since it is slightly different.

Summer Mordred's Voiced Valentine's Day Scene Linked because Gawain has a short appearance and does his cooking song.

CHARACTER
NAME: Gawain
CANON: Fate/Grand Order
CANON POINT:Temple of Solomon
AGE: Heroic spirits have no canon age, but I'm putting him somewhere around his mid 20s
BACKGROUND: https://typemoon.fandom.com/wiki/Saber_(Fate/Extra)#Role

PERSONALITY: Gawain is the ideal knight: loyal, honest and polite. He's what many people would call "refreshing," wearing a bright smile and willing to do most tasks without complaint, even something as unpleasant as debt collecting. At a glance, he appears to be nothing but positive, a "Prince Charming" type.

He can be a bit silly when it comes to petty things. When told that his cooking is bad in CCC, Gawain is depressed and shocked, as he believed that Artoria, his King, had loved his cooking, since she always ate it all with a stoic face. His friends have to point out that she was probably suffering through it and being kind. They then forbid Gawain from ever cooking again, which he promptly ignores, vowing to do better next time, not learning his lesson. Such an anecdote, while ridiculous, displays his sincere and devoted nature and the limits it sometimes has.

He's very honest as noted above, which means he can also be a little blunt and even inappropriate occasionally, particularly when it comes to women. He's been known to comment on women's features such as their breast size with no shame, believing it's natural for a man to do so. He's also been honest about disliking the older wife he had in life, a reference to the dame Ragnell myth. Even outside of goofy moments like this, he'll openly express if an opponent is weaker than him and delegate tasks to those he thinks are social inferiors, due to his life long experience as a warrior.

Being a knight is everything to Gawain, particularly his loyalty to his King and by extension his Master. The day he swore himself to King Arthur is the proudest moment of his life. Sometimes this loyalty can become a kind of blindness, with Gawain only seeing King Arthur's perfection and not realizing the burden she suffered in living up to an impossible ideal. This loyalty is complicated by Gawain's guilt over his role in Camelot's fall and the King's demise. Gawain's grudge against Lancelot led to the end of it all and as a Servant, he has vowed to become a perfect and loyal knight. This can lead to tragedy sometimes, such as in the Camelot singularity where Gawain's loyalty to the Lion King leads to him being on the enemy side and participating in the slaughter of innocents and even killing his own brother and sister. While filled with regret, he still feels obligated to fulfill his oath to the end. That said, Gawain himself much prefers Masters who are aligned to good like himself, and compliments Ritsuka on their "straightforward personality," expressing delight in assisting them.

If Gawain has one major flaw other than bouts of blind loyalty, its his ability to hold grudges and become enraged. His grudge against Lancelot over the death of Gawain's siblings was what led to the fall of Camelot. Gawain pursued this grudge against all reason, allowing his youngest surviving sibling, Arthur's illegitimate child, Mordred, to steal the throne. During the battle against Mordred at Camalan, Lancelot attempted to return to assist his King, but Gawain chose to physically repel him, an act that would cause both Gawain and Arthur's deaths. As a Servant in Chaldea, Gawain has learned to better reign his temper in, greeting Lancelot as a friend and promising to put their past behind him. On the other hand, his reaction to Mordred's arrival is more grudging, calling her "evil" and "traitor," at first. His famed politeness can fall away in situations where he thinks those he cares about are being threatened such as an infamous dialogue in Extra. Fearing for his Master, a boy named Leo, Gawain attacks Hakuno's Servant with vicious insults, such as calling Nero "Whore of Babylon."

While Gawain has these flaws, he is still in the end, a devoted knight, and despite all the different Masters he's served, his loyalty is constant.

POWERS/ABILITIES: Basic rundown of typical Servant abilities in Fate

Aside from abilities available to all Servants in Fate, Gawain has the following:

Magic Resistance B: He can cancel out spells of three verses or less and weaken the effects of higher level spells used against him.

Riding B: Can handle most normal mounts and vehicles with above level proficiency even if the vehicle didn't exist in his time. Riding B doesn't allow Gawain to ride phantasmal beasts or any supernatural mount.

Numeral of the Saint: Gawain has a unique physique that causes his strength and endurance to increase threefold from the periods of 9am to 12 am and 3pm to sunset, whenever the sun is out. This makes an already strong servant even stronger, making Gawain a nearly insurmontable force when the sun is out, though it's not impossible to find ways around this.

Excalibur Galatine: Gawain possesses the sword Galatine, the sister sword to Excalibur and the basis of his Noble Phantasm. Gawain's Noble Phantasm involves him using the sword the release the power of the sun in a blade of light that is capable of defeating up to 300 people.

His Noble Phantasm definitely needs to be nerfed, since being able to blow up 300 people is a little ridiculous. I imagine Numeral of the Saint Also needs to be nerfed, since threefold strength is also a little too much, even with the limits upon it.

INVENTORY: He's bringing along his armor and clothing, as well as his sword, Excalibur Galatine

Any Critique for me can go here. I've only been actively playing him for about four months and fate is a sprawling canon, so I appreciate any help I can get.

Alignment: After a lot of deliberation, I'm going with Daimona.

Gawain tends to be fairly cheerful most of the time and is usually in a state of good humor. While we do see him express occasional moments of grief over the tragedies of his past life, overall, Gawain is not a gloomy person and usually has a smile for his companions.
